Superstars Camp

A great summer camp should be a safe and exciting place where girls and boys can make friends, discover new passions and learn to be independent. Here, they are taught values such as teamwork and cooperation – all while surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Halifax River, fabulous indoor and outdoor sports facilities like the DME Sports Complex, DME Municipal Stadium and the DME Ice Plex. It’s a great place for kids to find out who they are and what makes them tick.

Whatever interests you – sports, academics, crafts or just great times with great friends – you will find it at DME Summer Superstars Camp!

The DME Sports landscape serves as a backdrop for a diverse program and enduring future traditions. There are several trademarks of the DME experience. One is a structured, well-rounded program that grows as a child does. DME caters both to the young novice and the experienced camper who is already highly skilled in an area of endeavor. Another is the Spirit of DME. The fields and grounds of DME Sports facilities reverberate with the sounds of cheering, laughter and excellence. DME’s structure of team games and activities throughout the summer means the lessons and bonds of teamwork, support, sportsmanship and perseverance are reinforced daily.

DME fosters a culture built on timeless values. In an increasingly fast-paced world, camp provides a nurturing, supportive environment in which children can try new things, develop new skills, focus on friendships and take great pride in learning and then passing down the traditions they create. Along the way, kids gain confidence from navigating new situations, emerge self-assured, caring and well-rounded, and forge some of the closest friendships of their lives.

The mission of the DME Sports Camp is to provide a nurturing environment that enhances our campers’ sense of value and self-worth. We provide opportunities for kids to explore all facets of their personalities and encourage campers to take risks that expand their boundaries. Our goal is that by summer’s end, our campers will leave with greater confidence, self-reliance and resilience as they return home to face the pressures of their fast-paced world.

At DME Sports Camp, we are committed to helping our campers develop into fine young adults. Everything about our camp supports this goal. When given guidance and opportunities to blossom, our campers will do just that.

We help our campers develop:

Respect for Oneself and Others
DME Camp teaches the importance of making ethical choices. Camp fosters tolerance and respect for oneself and others. Camp life and daily team games create an atmosphere of collaboration rather than an environment of “win-at-all-costs.”

Respect for the Rules of Camp
Campers understand and appreciate the importance of adhering to guidelines

Courage to Face New Challenges
Our diverse program provides an opportunity for campers to master skills and challenges through each activity offered. Campers participate in all activities at camp. They learn the importance of cooperation and perseverance in achieving their goals.

A Sense of Pride in Belonging
Campers are part of a team within their age group, and a member of the overall camp structure. These different groupings provide opportunities for individual contributions to have an impact on others. Older campers become role models as they assume leadership positions for first-time campers. As the summer progresses, campers make positive decisions for themselves and the camp community.

DME focuses on the camper. We believe that little things make big things happen and that the DME camp experience will become the catalyst, the launching pad for your child’s future athletic and academic growth. Yes we are serious, very serious about the job that we are so fortunate to do for your family and for your child.
